Concierge-Level Care for Your Cataract Needs

Under the expert guidance of the renowned Dr. Raviv, our exceptional cataract treatments go beyond medical intervention to offer a personalized path to remarkably better vision, with rapid recovery and minimal postoperative restrictions. During your visit to the Eye Center of New York, you’ll undergo the latest diagnostic tests to uncover how we can treat your specific condition. During your examination, we’ll discuss what you’re a candidate for and then immediately schedule your procedure—so you’ll be on the path to a transformed vision from day one.

What Are Cataracts, and How Are They Treated?

For most, cataracts are a normal aging phenomenon that occurs when the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy due to age or other causes. For a small subset, cataracts occur earlier in life from other known and unknown causes. Modern cataract surgery can be thought of as lens replacement surgery, where the natural but cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a new crystal-clear, man-made intraocular lens (IOL) implant.

The new implant restores the clarity of the optical system and results in improved vision. With premium IOLs, the implant not only treats cataracts but also corrects refractive errors, such as astigmatism and presbyopia–providing a comprehensive vision solution tailored to the unique characteristics of your eyes.

What Treatments Do You Offer?

The procedure is a delicate dance of surgical precision and technological innovation. Dr. Raviv utilizes the latest cataract extraction method, femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery (also known as FLACS). Dr. Raviv was one of the first surgeons in Manhattan to perform this computer-guided, laser-assisted cataract surgery: the most precise cataract surgery available today.

The laser can achieve many of the steps of traditional cataract surgery with extreme precision and is also simultaneously used to treat low levels of astigmatism. The laser has been clinically shown to reduce the amount of energy used in the eye during cataract removal, with less collateral damage.

What Can Premium Cataract Surgery Treat?

By customizing the premium IOL implant, cataract surgery addresses not only clouded lenses but also corrections for common refractive errors such as:

  • Farsightedness
  • Nearsightedness
  • Astigmatism
  • Presbyopia

Cataracts are frequently accompanied by other eye conditions, such as glaucoma or retinal disease. In some cases, certain precautions need to be taken. In others, additional procedures can also treat the co-existing condition.

Dr. Raviv specializes in adapting your cataract surgical procedure to least disturb or address these other conditions. Dr. Raviv has published and lectured extensively on cataract surgery in the setting of corneal disorders, glaucoma, young age, retinal disease such as macular degeneration, high or extreme myopia (near-sightedness), post LASIK eyes, cataracts after radiation, traumatic cataract and many others. What Are the Benefits of Premium Cataract Surgery?

Experience Dr. Raviv’s innovative instant-recovery cataract surgery at Eye Center of New York. Here are Dr Raviv’s takeaways:

The premium cataract surgery I perform today is light-years ahead of the cataract surgery I performed in the early 2000s.  At my practice, we perform the most precise and least invasive cataract surgery for near-instant visual results and immediate return to normal daily activities -- No patch and No mandatory dark sunglasses. Dr. Raviv’s surgical finesse minimizes the need for glasses postoperatively, offering you a newfound freedom in your visual experience.

Clear, healthy vision:

Dr. Raviv’s meticulous approach ensures a vision unobstructed by the haze of cataracts. The eye is a biologic camera, and in cataract surgery, we replace the aged, cloudy, yellow lens with a brand new, clear, man-made lens implant.

Cutting-edge technology:

Eye Center of New York is committed to remaining at the vanguard of technological innovations. Dr. Raviv employs the latest advancements, including femtosecond laser cataract surgery, all premium IOLs, and Light Adjustable Lens to target the best surgical outcomes possible.

Lifestyle enhancement:

Premium cataract surgery is more than just a restoration of vision; we can wind back the clock on your vision by a few decades or more. In some cases, for very nearsighted patients, we can provide you with spectacle vision you haven’t had since childhood or at all.  We are thrilled when our surgery can dramatically improve your daily life.

Ridiculously Comprehensive, Yet Efficient Preoperative Diagnostic Imaging and Measurement

We’re pretty sure that after we show you the images and measurements of your initial set of diagnostic tests–you will remark that you’ve never experienced anything like it before–even at other cataract surgeons.

The eye is a complex phenomenon of nature, and before we operate on a cataract, we need to fully understand how all the other parts of the eyes are functioning.

  • Compassionate care: Dr. Raviv goes beyond his role as a surgeon as a compassionate caregiver. Operating on fellow physicians, surgeons, and their families, he brings a level of trust and empathy to the operating room that sets Eye Center of New York apart.

What Treatments Do You Provide?

Depending on your diagnosis, we will recommend replacing the cataract with an intraocular lens (IOL) that will help restore your clear vision. Learn more about the IOLs we offer here.
