Common Conditions We Treat

We address a wide range of conditions to ensure your eyes receive the care they deserve:

Cataracts

Cataracts are a common age-related condition in which the eye's natural lens becomes cloudy, leading to blurred vision. At the Eye Center of New York, our skilled team, led by Dr. Raviv, specializes in cataract diagnosis and treatment, employing state-of-the-art procedures to restore clarity to patients' vision.

The treatment involves meticulous cataract surgery, during which the cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with an intraocular lens (IOL). Dr. Raviv tailors the choice of IOL to each patient's unique visual needs, ensuring not only the removal of cataracts but also the enhancement of overall vision. With a commitment to precision and advanced techniques, Eye Center of New York provides individuals with effective and personalized solutions for cataract management.

Dry Eyes

Dry eye is a multifactorial condition causing irritation, burning, tearing, and redness. Dr. Sherman excels in diagnosing and treating dry eyes with a tailored approach, including artificial tears, prescription eye drops, in-office procedures, punctual plugs, oral supplements, and lid hygiene routines.

One groundbreaking solution we offer is LipiFlow®, an in-office thermal pulsation device. Similar to lid scrubbing but more advanced, LipiFlow simultaneously heats all four eyelids, thoroughly clearing out meibomian glands. Patients typically experience significant relief for up to a year following this treatment.

We also offer intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, a revolutionary treatment for chronic dry eye disease and Meibomian gland dysfunction, and Blephex, which utilizes a specialized device to precisely and effectively clean the eyelids, providing relief from symptoms such as dry eye and styes.

Blepharitis

Characterized by eyelid margin inflammation and associated structures, blepharitis can lead to various ocular issues. Our advanced in-office treatments, such as LipiFlow®, IPL, and Blephex, provide effective and long-lasting relief.

Eye Infections

Swift and accurate diagnosis of eye infections is crucial, and our team employs cutting-edge techniques to identify and treat infections promptly.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma, a progressive disease affecting the optic nerve, requires vigilant screening and management. Dr. Lee, a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, and our team employ advanced techniques for glaucoma diagnostics, including pressure-lowering eyedrops, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and laser therapy.

Dr. Raviv employs cutting-edge techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, to address glaucoma and enhance patient outcomes. For eligible patients, a modern approach involves the placement of a mini stent, the iStent, during cataract surgery. This groundbreaking technique could reduce the need for eye drops post-implantation.

Uveitis

Uveitis requires specialized care, and our experienced team ensures precise diagnosis and tailored treatment plans for optimal outcomes.
