With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Tal Raviv is a fellowship-trained cataract and refractive surgeon and an internationally recognized leader in refractive cataract surgery. In his private NYC ophthalmology practice, Dr. Raviv specializes exclusively in refractive cataract surgery. His innovative, immediate-recovery, laser cataract surgery, free from injections, patches, or dark glasses sets a new standard in patient care. 

Dr. Raviv is renowned for his expertise in high-risk and complex cataract surgery, often accepting referrals from fellow ophthalmologists. He is a trailblazer in using microstents such as iStent and Hydrus during cataract surgery, pioneering minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Dr. Raviv also employs innovative technologies such as femtosecond laser cataract surgery and ORA laser-guided intraoperative refraction, ensuring the most precise cataract outcomes. 

Recognized as a Superdoctor, Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctor, and listed among the OSN Premier 300 top ophthalmic surgeons in the country, Dr. Raviv is a distinguished figure in the field. Dr. Paul S. Lee is a distinguished clinician, teacher, and leader in ophthalmology. Serving as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai, Dr. Lee is also the Associate Program Director of NYEEI and Mount Sinai’s ophthalmology residency program. Currently, he holds the position of President of the NYEEI and Mount Sinai Ophthalmology Alumni Association, one of the country’s largest ophthalmology networks.

Dr. Lee earned his undergraduate degree with honors in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago. He pursued his medical degree at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. His journey continued with the completion of his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

A recipient of the Abraham L. Kornzweig Award for Excellence in Resident Education, Dr. Lee has co-authored chapters in major ophthalmology reference textbooks. He actively contributes to resident education, particularly in modern cataract and glaucoma surgery techniques. Outside work, Dr. Lee is a dedicated family man and a passionate athlete, having completed several Olympic distance triathlons.

Licensed Optometrist | Specializing in Dry Eye Disease

Dr. Melissa Sherman, a licensed optometrist at Eye Center of New York, offers full-scope eye care. Graduating magna cum laude from Rutgers University and elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Sherman earned her doctorate at the SUNY State College of Optometry. Her rotations included diagnosis and management of ocular disease at Woodhull Hospital and St. Albans VA Hospital, providing extensive experience in prescribing glasses and contact lenses.

Dr. Sherman specializes in pre and post op cataract surgery care, including LAL adjustment.  She is also an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease, Dr. Sherman has extensive experience in the latest in dry eye diagnostics and treatments. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Sherman is known for her compassionate care, focusing on high-quality and individualized patient experiences. Beyond her practice, she enjoys yoga, travel, and spending time with her husband and two young children.
