The Next Generation of Spectacle Independence Is Here

At the Eye Center of New York, we are proud to offer the Clareon® PanOptix® Pro—the most advanced trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) available today. Whether you're undergoing cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange (RLE), PanOptix® Pro delivers clear, seamless vision at distance, intermediate, and near, minimizing halos, glare, and other visual side effects often associated with multifocal lenses.

“PanOptix Pro elevates everything we loved about the original PanOptix—clarity, range, and freedom from glasses, with significantly better contrast and fewer night vision symptoms.”

Dr. Tal Raviv

Pros

  • Outstanding range of vision  from far to intermediate to close-up
  • Greater comfort in dim light and night driving due to 94% light utilization and 50% less light scatter compared to the original PanOptix
  • Exceptional spectacle independence
  • 98.4% of patients would recommend it, and 99.2% would choose it again.
  • Only 1.4% reported bothersome halos, 0.8% glare, and 2.6% starbursts in international studies
  • Available in toric form for patients with astigmatism

Considerations

  • Some patients still perceive mild nighttime halos or starbursts, though significantly less than previous trifocal designs
  • As with any advanced IOL, individual healing can vary
  • About 3% of patients may benefit from a light laser enhancement (PRK), and roughly 0.5% may require an IOL exchange to a different lens type

Who Is It For?

Dr. Raviv recommends the PanOptix® Pro for patients with:

  • Healthy eyes and good macular function
  • 20/20 visual potential
  • A strong desire to minimize or eliminate the need for glasses

This lens is particularly well suited for active individuals who need clear vision for a wide range of tasks, such as reading, working on screens, driving, or enjoying vibrant low-light environments like restaurants and theaters.

Are There Alternatives?

For patients who:

  • Work heavily in the 2–4 foot visual range (musicians, artists)
  • Have unique visual demands or specific eye conditions

…Dr. Raviv may recommend combining PanOptix Pro with a different lens in the fellow eye (such as Symfony or Vivity) to optimize depth-of-focus. Lens selection at the Eye Center of New York is always personalized and precision-guided.
